Instilling a love for books and reading is an extremely important aspect in a child’s development. The importance and enjoyment of books was highlighted at Crawford Pre-Primary, North Coast during Read-a-thon Week which culminated in a Book Evening at school. The children came dressed in their pyjamas and were equipped with a torch to search for hidden treasure. They were treated to chocolate milk and cookies, and relished the opportunity to enjoy a story or puppet show with their teachers, as their parents enjoyed some refreshments and perused through the wide selection of books that were available for purchase. Parents were afforded the opportunity to buy books to donate to the school library, as well as to the LIV Village Charity organisation.
