Photographer Wayne Johnstone works between Cape Town and Ballito. We asked him to share one of his favourite images that sums up life on the North Coast.
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself, where you’re from, and how you got into photography?
A: I studied film and television technology, then moved to Cape Town and worked in the film industry for about five years, while building my business Myth Media which is a video production and still photography agency.
Q: Sum up North Coast living in five words.
A: Peaceful, blissful, popular, sea views
Q: When you’re not taking photos, what are you doing?
A: Filming, directing or editing videos.
Q: Tell us a bit about the ‘surfer silhouette’ shot.
A: The shot was taken at 7:40am on a Canon 650d. It was just a random surfer but the moment was right, and this scene just sums up North Coast living for me.
